Let Us Defeat the Rising Price of Gas Again!

Saudi Arabia decided last year to hurt the American petroleum industry by increasing oil production to the point where our fracking industry had to begin closing down wells.  Although environmentalists may be glad to know that fracking has been reduced, the Saudi move may hurt us in the long run because it is expensive to return a well to production after it has been closed down for several years.

And consumers also feel the pain because despite a glut of petroleum on world markets the price of gasoline has been rising steadily at the pump.  We pay more for our daily driving and on long trips.  We can only hope that Saudi Arabia runs out of oil much sooner because of its policy.  Maybe that will teach them to play more fairly on the world markets.

Of course I do not expect to see the United States in an energy crisis.  In the 1970s when the OPEC oil cartel was more powerful they caused a great deal of misery for US consumers at the gas pump.  Those days, hopefully, will never return to our society.  But as I was filling my tank the other day and realizing with sadness how the low prices at the pump were over I decided I could do my part to help people save money on gas by finding good Websites that share information.

How to Save Money on Gas by Jeremiah is a recent article that caught my attention right away.  The author suggests washing your car to reduce drag, among other simple tips.

How to Drive Through Rush Hour Traffic on Long Trips also provides good advice that local commuters should follow.  One of the worst parts of my day is having to drive through city traffic when everyone else is on the road.  I am all for reducing the stress and loss of productive time while commuting.

How to Save Money on Gas for Your Car is an older article but still filled with much relevant and helpful information.  Not only does putting distance between yourself and other cars save gas and money, it is a highly recommended defensive driving practice.

Some of the suggestions in those articles are very popular.  I found several articles like this one where the authors were compiling lists of ideas for saving money, and they shared tips similar to those in the articles above.

We all want to save money when and where we can.  But one of the most places to save money is in your vehicle.  If you do not pay attention to how much gas you use you could spend far more money at the pump than you need to.
