Where to Learn More about Using Coupons

Learn to use coupons wisely to save money
As we wait to see how the economy fares in the next few months it behooves us to think of ways to save money.  That is always the best, most desirable option in your financial life.  Good times, bad times, you should always strive to save money.

One great way to save money is to use coupons to take advantage of price reductions.  But you should use coupons carefully and wisely.  The pursuit of coupons can become an all-encompassing obsession and I don't wish that on anyone.  We want to invest our time carefully.

Of the many Websites that share tips on how to use coupons I have found only a few that really meet my expectations.  Some Websites are great for sharing how to get the coupons.  You always want to find great coupon deals.  But when it comes to learning how to use coupons well I don't think you have many good options.

The Couponing Tips site is a little outdated but it still provides wonderful advice on how to select and manage coupons.  The articles are written from the author's personal experience.

Another very useful site in my experience is the Printable Coupon Pages site, which tells you where to look for coupons that you can print.  These are legitimate coupons, not the fake ones that some people still publish on untrustworthy websites.  I also like Coupon Printable.

If you buy a lot of beverages such as soft drinks for your family you will want to know where to find good coupons for those products.  I like to check the Drink Coupons site from time to time.  They cover many brands of soft drinks and give you good information on where to look for coupons.

The psychology of coupons is very important.  We should understand why retailers use coupons and why we should pay attention to them.  More than one blogger has pointed out a few pitfalls in playing with coupons.  This is really a mind game.  It is an exercise in choosing the right path.

Are you familiar with the story of the Thief of Baghdad?  He ventured into a hidden treasure chamber but he was warned not to stray from the path.  As he went deep into the mountain he saw many statues frozen in place on either side of the path.  Scattered across the cavern were many fantastic treasures.  The statues were people who had strayed from the path.  They were cursed and frozen as statues for all time.

When you use coupons to save money you must be like the Thief of Baghdad and not stray from the path.  You only want to save money on products you would normally purchase for yourself.  You don't want to go out of your way to spend money on things you don't need just because you found a great coupon deal.
